A home game in Minnesota has featured a wide receiver with three touchdowns and a quarterback throwing for four and with 300+ yards only twice previously in Vikings history – Tommy Kramer and Sammy White in 1982 and Randall Cunningham and Randy Moss in 1998.Including the postseason, Diggs had just the 17th three-receiving touchdown game in Vikings history and 11th at home. The last to do it was Sidney Rice in an NFC Division playoff game on Jan. 17, 2010. The last to do it in a regular-season game was Marcus Robinson against Cleveland in 2005. Robinson only had three catches in the game totaling 32 yards – or less than two of Diggs’ TDs.Diggs’ 167 yards against the Eagles are the fourth-highest in any three TD game in Vikings history, topped only by White and Randy Moss (twice).ALL-TIME VIKINGS 3 RECEIVING TD GAMESPLAYERDATEOPPRESULTRECYDSJerry Reichow12/17/1961at BearsL, 52-35690Charley Ferguson11/11/1962at BearsL, 31-303130Gene Washington11/9/1969vs. BrownsW Minnesota Vikings Jerseys Stitched , 51-37119Sammy White12/11/1976at DolphinsW, 29-79120Ahmad Rashad*9/2/1979vs. 49ersW, 28-227152Sammy White11/28/1982vs. BearsW, 35-710177Cris Carter9/25/1994vs. DolphinsW, 38-35781Cris Carter12/21/1997vs. ColtsW, 39-28589Randy Moss11/26/1998at CowboysW, 46-363163Randy Moss12/6/1998vs. BearsW, 48-228106Cris Carter11/14/1999at BearsW, 27-249141Randy Moss10/1/2000at LionsW, 31-247168Randy Moss11/19/2001vs. GiantsW, 28-1610171Randy Moss9/28/2003vs. 49ersW, 35-78172Marcus Robinson11/27/2005vs. BrownsW Garrett Bradbury black jersey ,24-12332Sidney Rice**1/17/2010vs. CowboysW, 34-36141Stefon Diggs10/13/2019vs. EaglesW, 38-207167* — Rashad had four touchdowns** — playoff gameCousins became the 14th Vikings quarterback, including playoffs, to throw four or more touchdowns in a home game and the 26th time overall. It had been nine years since the home faithful saw a Vikings QB have four touchdowns and 300 yards passing, and it’s been done only 10 times total.VIKINGS QBS W/ 4+ TD, 300+ YARDS IN A HOME GAMEPLAYERDATEOPPRESULTYDSTDFran Tarkenton9/20/1964BearsL, 34-283114Joe Kapp9/28/1969ColtsW, 52-144497Tommy Kramer12/14/1980BrownsW, 28-234564Tommy Kramer11/28/1982BearsW, 35-73425Warren Moon11/19/1995SaintsW, 43-243384Randall Cunningham12/6/1998BearsW, 48-223494Jeff George11/28/1999ChargersW, 35-273634Todd Bouman12/9/2001TitansW Football Olisaemeka Udoh Jersey , 42-243484Brett Favre1/3/2010GiantsW, 44-73164Kirk Cousins10/13/2019EaglesW, 38-203334 Hat tip to the folks at The Vikings Wire, who I saw had this one first.Usually the mock drafts are Mark’s thing, but since it’s the bye week and we need some stuff to talk about, there’s a mock draft by Luke Easterling over at The Draft Wire that presents what would be a pretty awesome scenario for fans of the Minnesota Vikings. The real excitement is not with the first selection in the three-round mock, which sees the Vikings go after yet another offensive lineman. Alex Leatherwood out of Alabama. (Great name, though.) No, the real excitement for Vikings fans comes from the second round selection, and it’s a familiar name for any fan of the purple.(And, if you’ve noticed the picture at the top of the story, you’ve already figured it out.)Easterling has the Vikings using their second-round pick on University of Minnesota defensive back Antoine Winfield. . .Jr.It wouldn’t be a crazy pick Youth Garrett Bradbury Jersey , that’s for sure. Winfield leads the nation with seven interceptions and has been incredibly good for the Golden Gophers all season long. On top of that, the Vikings might end up having some openings at the safety position after this season. Anthony Harris and Jayron Kearse are both on the last year of their contract, and Andrew Sendejo is only back on a one-year deal. The Vikings are going to need to put someone next to Harrison Smith, and if they lose enough players at the position, Winfield the Younger is a pick that could make sense.Besides, do you think Mike Zimmer is going to pass on a defensive back if the opportunity presents itself?Again, it’s probably way too early for mock drafts and such, but with the bye week in full swing, having some visions of another Antoine Winfield going around laying out opposing wide receivers is perfectly okay, in my opinion.
